Mt. Pahia Summit
Although Mount Otemanu’s spire-style peak dominates the scenery on Bora Bora, it is tightly adjacent to Mount Pahia, and the pair are known as the twin peaks. Mount Pahia, however, has a relatively flat summit, much easier to climb and look over the surrounding reefs, the lagoon and the other islands.
Mount Pahia stands at 658 metres (2,159 feet) above sea leverland is the second highest on Bora Bora; it is an ancient volcano, no longer active, long extinguished and therefore safe to climb or sightsee from.
Since there is no public transportation on Bora Bora, visitors can rent a Jeep and driver to take them up to the Mount Pahia summit and look around. They might just find a few gastropods (snails and slugs) in the greenery and on the ground, but a spectacular view is primary. Be sure to take a camera. It can be very breezy on Mount Pahia summit.
