Scotiabank Arena: Toronto's Epicenter Of Sports And Entertainment

One of Canada’s premiere sports and entertainment arenas, this is an upscale venue with all the amenities imaginable to make the concert or hockey experience a delight. The Scotiabank Arena opened in 1999 and since then has hosted about 27,000,000 patrons at more then 2,000 events. It is home to the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey club, the Toronto Raptors basketball club and the Toronto Rock lacrosse club. Major rock and pop concerts are staged here.

Because it is a multi-purpose venue, the Scotiabank Arena has to switch personalities, so to speak, very quickly. Its 58’ x 200’ ice rink can be converted to a basketball court or intimate-feeling music theater for the likes of Elton John in performance, in about five hours. The venue has just under 20,000 seats, but that varies slightly depending upon the event being staged.

Located right in downtown Toronto, close to the CN Tower and in easy access to most Toronto Beaches, the arena boasts lots of parking, but it’s always best to take public transit (when 20,000 people leave their seats, traffic gets snarled). Fortunately, the venue is close to Toronto Union Station, where GO Transit commuter trains, regular railway service trains and subway trans converge.

The 665,000-square-foot facility has two bars, a Molson beer brewery (right on the premises), fast-food concessions, and three fine-dining establishments. The Scotiabank Arena will provide a night of excitement, whether music or sports are to your taste.
